I'm a Google-er

I'm sitting in Jurisprudence right now (breaking the Law School honor code, no doubt) and blogging so that I won't poke myself in the eye with a pen because I am so bored. Ok, truth be told, I didn't bring any writing utensils with me to class (I had to borrow one to sign the roll), so I guess there really is no danger and no reason for me to not pay attention....I digress.

In an effort to allay my boredom, I googled an individual who has been infinitely helpful over the last few months -- a current clerk for a judge I'm working for next year. Not that she isn't fabulous, but I google everyone -- I am inherently nosey (and evidently vein). I found her blog here and decided to branch out my blogging. Currently, I blog on triathlete.com as RebelAthena regarding my triathlon training and racing. So, here I am.

Finding that she blogs made me like her even more and reminded me of an experience I had last week.

I am a nerd, seriously. I was not one before law school, but my nerdness lead me to working in the library and I work on the party night of the week -- Thursdays. Because the library is usually bare on these evenings, I make little effort to improve my appearance. So last Thursday night I was wearing a hole-y t-shirt, bleach stained shorts, flip-flops, and a sweatshirt...not to mention that my cleaned, but uncoifed hair was still molded from my helmet, barely having time to shower after a 25 mile bike ride (which was full of hills and nearly killed me, but that is another blog).

So, this kind looking judge came into the library (here at the school for a judge conference) and needed help -- I was happy to oblige and helped him as much as I could. After a while, he asked where I was working after graduation, and I told him -- to which he replied "Oh, I had lunch today with a judge from there, [insert name]." I just sort of looked at him -- "Oh" I replied, "That is who I'm working for." And he gave me this look...

Why, you are asking yourself, does this matter? Well, at that point, I'd not met the judge, face-to-face, who hired me. I went home that night, thinking to myself, that judge I'd helped would give my future employer a good report, but would certainly add, "you may need to have a discussion with her about grooming." :-)

Back to class, we are grilling our professor like the Turkey he is!!!
